Job description for the SAM Operations Analyst role below:
Location : Remote in US (PST Time zone)
Key Responsibilities
Software License Management
Maintain and track software licenses using SAM Pro (a product developed by ServiceNow).
Assist in managing software entitlements, contracts, and usage data.
Support license reconciliation and ensure compliance.
Monitor license consumption to identify over-deployment or underutilization.
Platform Support
Work within the Software Asset Management (SAM) module.
Assist in maintaining software models and normalization processes.
Update and maintain software asset records.
Generate license compliance reports and dashboards.
Compliance & Audits
Support preparation of data for vendor audits (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe).
Help ensure ongoing license compliance across the organization.
Assist with internal software audit activities.
Reporting & Data Analysis
Create reports on software usage, compliance, and optimization.
Analyze usage trends and recommend opportunities for license optimization.
Collaboration
Work closely with IT Asset Management, Procurement, and IT Operations teams.
Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders as needed.

Technical Skills
Basic understanding of the ServiceNow platform.
Knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) concepts.
Familiarity with software licensing models (per user, per device, subscription).
Experience with Excel and data analysis.

Preferred Skills
Exposure to ServiceNow SAM Pro.
Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
Basic understanding of CMDB and IT Asset Management.
