Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced, enterprise-level Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and support mission-critical Oracle database environments. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and overall health of Oracle databases across development, testing, and production environments.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Oracle database technologies, high-availability solutions, disaster recovery planning, and database performance optimization, ensuring maximum uptime, scalability, and reliability for our core infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration & Maintenance: Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain complex Oracle Database environments across development, QA, UAT, and production.

  • High Availability & DR: Administer Oracle RAC environments to ensure high availability and scalability; configure and support Oracle Data Guard environments for seamless disaster recovery.

  • Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.

  • Backup & Recovery: Design, implement, and manage robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and other enterprise Oracle tools.

  • Security & Compliance: Implement database security best practices, including rigorous user access management, auditing, and compliance standards.

  • Operations & Support: Troubleshoot database incidents, provide root-cause analysis for critical issues, and participate in production support and on-call rotations as required.

  • Migrations & Cloning: Support database migration, refresh, cloning, and upgrade activities while minimizing downtime.

  • Collaboration & Documentation: Partner closely with application development, infrastructure, and support teams. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, operational procedures, and recovery plans.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: 15+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in large-scale, enterprise environments.

  • Oracle Versions: Strong, proven experience with Oracle Database 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, or later versions.

  • Core High Availability: Deep expertise in Oracle RAC administration/support and hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard configuration and management.

  • Data Management: Robust knowledge of RMAN backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.

  • Tuning & Internals: Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, database internals, database performance tuning, and SQL optimization.

  • Infrastructure: Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems alongside experience with database patching, upgrades, and migrations.

  • Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, paired with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud: Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

  • Certification: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

  • Replication: Experience with GoldenGate replication.

  • Automation: Knowledge of Shell Scripting, Python, or other automation/DevOps tools.

  • Scale: Proven track record supporting large-scale, high-volume production environments.

  • Process: Familiarity with ITIL processes and standard change management procedures.
