SQL DBA

Description

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This hybrid role requires a detail-oriented individual to manage, optimize, and oversee database systems while ensuring their security and reliability. Based in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, this position offers a flexible schedule with part-time hours.

Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain database systems, including Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and MySQL.
Perform performance tuning and optimization to ensure databases operate efficiently.
Monitor database health and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive information.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address database needs and provide technical support.
Conduct regular backups and ensure data recovery processes are in place.
Analyze and improve database workflows to streamline operations.
Document database configurations and procedures for internal reference.
Upgrade and patch database systems to stay current with industry standards.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in database management.

Requirements

A minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and MySQL.
Strong knowledge of performance tuning techniques and database optimization.
Experience with database security and backup/recovery procedures.
Familiarity with Microsoft SQL tools and related technologies.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical teams.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in database management.
