Role Overview
This employer is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join a growing Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, and AI/ML team in support of a multi-cloud environment with 50+ customer tenants. The selected candidate will support all phases of development, design, modernization, and rapid development of cloud solutions in Azure and AWS GovCloud. This professional will serve as an engineer to support the development and infrastructure teams, ensuring that all cloud solutions remain scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise using best practices for designing cloud-based and hybrid solutions.
- Consult, design, and implement complex cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud services to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Develop proofs of concept and minimum viable products (MVPs) of Azure and AWS services to solve technical challenges.
- Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, best practices, and security guidelines for cloud adoption and migration.
- Provision, manage, and set up monitoring systems in Azure and AWS cloud environments.
- Build and improve GitLab CI/CD pipelines to automate application and infrastructure deployments.
- Deploy cloud serverless technologies and components, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Amazon EC2, and Amazon EKS.
- Manage Azure and AWS data storage services, including Azure Blob storage, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Files, Amazon S3, and Elastic Block Store (EBS).
- Support the design of secure cloud architecture, ensuring system components maintain compliance with security frameworks such as NIST and FedRAMP.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, network security, and data encryption.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Experience: Five or more years of related cloud engineering experience, including direct support of Microsoft Azure GovCloud and Amazon Web Services GovCloud environments and solutions.
Technical Skills: Professional experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, cloud serverless technologies (Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS), and cloud storage solutions (Azure Blob, Azure Data Lake, Amazon S3, EBS). Active Azure or AWS certifications are required. ship is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous consulting experience supporting federal departments or agencies.
- Understanding of AI/ML operations and the development-to-field lifecycle.
- Experience working within an Agile framework, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Hands-on knowledge and experience with Jira and Confluence.
Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated pay range for this position is $60.00/hr to $73.00/hr. Please note that the final pay rate will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the specific requirements of the role.
