Summary

About the Role:

As a Manufacturing Engineer in the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing production processes to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing output. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining manufacturing systems, including CNC programming and machining operations, to support new product introductions and ongoing production demands. Your expertise will drive improvements in process layouts, injection molding techniques, and statistical process control to minimize waste and maximize productivity. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as design, quality, and production, you will ensure that manufacturing processes meet both technical specifications and regulatory standards. Ultimately, your work will contribute to delivering reliable, cost-effective products that meet customer expectations and support the company's growth objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with CNC programming and operation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, injection molding, and process layout design.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) techniques and quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with new product introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Certification in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related process improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining processes to improve production efficiency and product quality.
  • Design and implement manufacturing process improvements, including plan layouts and workflow enhancements.
  • Lead new product introduction activities by collaborating with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
  • Apply statistical process control methods to monitor and control manufacturing processes, ensuring consistent quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to machining, injection molding, and other production operations.
  • Document process changes, maintain process control plans, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Train and support production staff on new manufacturing techniques and equipment usage.

Skills:

The required skills such as CNC programming and machining are essential for daily tasks involving the setup, optimization, and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment to ensure precision and efficiency. Manufacturing engineering expertise allows the engineer to design and refine production processes, including plan layouts and injection molding operations, to meet production goals and quality standards. Statistical process control skills are applied to monitor process performance and implement corrective actions proactively, reducing defects and variability. Preferred skills like new product introduction experience and knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies enable the engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage complex projects effectively. Together, these skills empower the engineer to drive innovation, maintain high-quality standards, and support scalable manufacturing operations in a dynamic production environment.
