Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced COBOL Mainframe Lead/Developer to design, develop, and maintain large-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in COBOL and related technologies, along with the ability to support modernization initiatives and lead development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive development and maintenance of applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2/IMS
Lead solution design, perform code reviews, and make technical decisions (Lead role)
Conduct complex impact analysis and ensure high-quality deliverables
Work within Agile and DevOps frameworks for mainframe environments
Mentor junior developers and enforce coding standards and best practices
Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, and production support teams
Own end-to-end delivery, including development, testing, and release readiness
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize performance
Participate in legacy modernization and migration initiatives (mainframe to Java/cloud)
Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Assembler (nice to have)
Exposure to mainframe modernization tools and strategies
Strong communication and leadership skills (especially for Lead role
