Role: Data Migration Field Support Technician- In Person Interview

Location: Onsite, Boise, ID

Duration: 6 Months Contract

The Data Migration Field Support Technician provides hands-on, onsite IT support for focusing on hardware deployments, device configuration, and end-user data migration to Microsoft 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint). This role plays a key part in transitioning users from legacy environments to modern M365 platforms while ensuring minimal disruption to agency  operations. The technician works closely with IT leadership, agency  staff, and district administration to deliver responsive customer service, accurate asset management, and reliable technical support .

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Migrate end-user emails and documents from legacy systems (on-prem Exchange, external M365, Google Workspace) to the central M365 tenant.
  • Onboard users to Microsoft 365, providing guidance on Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 environments and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Support and troubleshoot Active Directory users, computers, groups, and policies (preferred).
  • Coordinate equipment shipments, receivables, surplus processing, and maintain accurate asset inventory records.
  • Assist with office moves, adds, and changes in collaboration with agency staff.
  • Communicate clearly with users regarding issue status, resolutions, and task completion; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to test, validate, and support new hardware and applications.
  • Travel throughout the state as needed to support agency locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of IT support experience.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to prioritize and resolve trouble tickets based on impact.
  • Experience onboarding users and migrating data to Microsoft 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 2016.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience with Active Directory administration and basic network troubleshooting (wired/wireless, ping, tracert).
