Hybrid 4 days onsite in Culver City, CA

Our client seeks an ETL DataStage Consultant to deliver development, administration, production support, and maintenance across data integration platforms. The consultant will implement and optimize ETL processes, script automation with Python and SQL, and ensure secure, reliable operations. The role includes environment management, incident response, performance monitoring, and continuous improvements aligned to KPIs and SLAs.

Rate: $50.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Understand requirements and implement ETL processes using DataStage to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data manipulation and retrieval.
  • Manage and configure DataStage environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to ETL processes.
  • Implement security best practices for data handling and integration.
  • Provide support for production processes, troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Monitor job logs and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Implement incident management processes to ensure timely resolution of production incidents.
  • Plan and execute regular maintenance activities, including system upgrades and patches.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards during maintenance activities.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing.
  • Utilize Python for scripting tasks related to data processing and automation.
  • Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data validation and transformation.
  • Work closely with business and technical teams, manage application support, and track KPI/SLA.

Experience Requirements:
  • 6 years of experience in ETL development and administration using DataStage.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and SQL for automation and platform improvements.
  • Solid understanding of Unix shell scripts, cron jobs, and relational databases.
  • Ability to lead and drive utilities and frameworks to automate functionality and environment checks.
  • Familiarity with Control-M, Managed File Transfer, and IBM Gentran is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ITSM processes and SLA expectations.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery with tools such as JIRA, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication and experience working in an onshore-offshore model.
  • Nice to have: Understanding or hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform.
