About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Lead Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Operations organization. In this role, you will lead the operations of our Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms, drive automation and operational excellence, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and compliance of critical infrastructure services.

You will lead complex initiatives, optimize platform performance, reduce operational toil, and collaborate across engineering, SRE, security, and development teams to strengthen our cloud-native ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Operations
  • Lead day-to-day operations of Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters, including maintenance, upgrades, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions in partnership with internal teams and third-party vendors.
  • Evaluate internal and external technologies to support target-state architecture and long-term platform strategy.
Incident & Problem Management
  • Act as the operational lead during major incidents to drive rapid diagnosis, mitigation, and root cause analysis.
  • Review high-impact outages and ensure preventive controls, operational guardrails, and long-term corrective actions are implemented.
Automation & Operational Excellence
  • Develop and enhance automation using Python, Bash, GitOps workflows, or AI-assisted tools to streamline processes and eliminate manual effort.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and lead initiatives to increase platform reliability, resiliency, and maturity.
OpenShift Lifecycle Management
  • Lead full lifecycle OpenShift activities including cluster builds, configuration, onboarding, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Ensure consistent, secure, and compliant deployment patterns across environments.
Collaboration & Governance
  • Partner with engineering, SRE, development, and security teams to implement standardized operational patterns and best practices.
  • Ensure platform operations adhere to organizational policies, security requirements, audit controls, and regulatory standards.
  • Consult and collaborate with peers, colleagues, and management to resolve issues and achieve operational goals.
Risk, Control & Cost Effectiveness
  • Oversee daily operational risk and control processes, ensuring adherence to procedures and work standards.
  • Recommend actions that optimize cost, performance, and platform health.
Customer & Vendor Engagement
  • Interact with internal customers and external vendors to resolve issues, support platform adoption, and coordinate solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technology infrastructure engineering, cloud operations, or technology architecture experience (or equivalent through work experience, training, military service, or education).
  • 5+ years of hands-on operational experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift platforms.
  • 2+ years of Linux systems operations experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker).
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and operational problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing OpenShift clusters and lifecycle operations.
  • Experience with ACM (Advanced Cluster Management), Git, or GitOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with operational tools such as Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus, Jira, or GitHub.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence operational improvements across teams.
Job Expectations
  • Participation in on-call rotations.
  • Onsite/hybrid work required from one of the posted locations.
