Video Production Engineer
Duration: 12-month contract

Work Environment: Video team and equipment are based onsite; regular travel required. Off-hours support may be needed for live events.
We are seeking a technically skilled, solutions-oriented Video Production Engineer to support a fast-paced internal creative and video production team. This role partners closely with producers, editors, and motion designers to ensure the technical excellence, reliability, and scalability of video productions and live broadcast events. The ideal candidate is hands-on, calm under pressure, and thrives in environments with a high volume of executive-level broadcasts and live productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide forward-looking technical engineering guidance, proactively assessing production needs and system approaches
  • Oversee digital media storage, archiving, and retrieval workflows, ensuring proper cataloging, version control, and accessibility
  • Support video productions and live events including setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown
  • Maintain and optimize AV equipment:
    • Cameras, lenses, lighting, audio gear
    • Switchers, encoders, studio infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly and independently during shoots, edits, and live broadcasts to minimize downtime
  • Recommend equipment upgrades, workflow improvements, and emerging AV technology
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, brand, information security, and equipment handling standards
  • Manage equipment inventory, routine maintenance, documentation, and vendor coordination

Required Experience

  • 5-10+ years of experience in:
    • Video production engineering
    • Broadcast operations
    • AV technical support
    • Live event production
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Camera systems and codecs
    • Signal flow
    • Lighting and audio fundamentals
    • Networking concepts
  • Hands-on experience supporting multi-camera live productions
    • Switching, streaming, projection, and audio reinforcement
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and production/control software
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical teams

Must-Have Technical Capabilities (Required)

  • Comfortable managing 200+ foot cable runs
  • Knows when and why to use:
    • Fiber
    • SDI
    • HDMI
    • CAT6
  • Able to build and manage a standalone network with 20+ devices
  • Can clearly explain the difference between:
    • Luma key
    • Chroma key

Equipment Familiarity

Hands-on experience with several of the following:
  • Professional cameras and microphones
  • Video switchers
  • Audio interfaces
  • Fiber transport systems
  • RAID storage arrays
  • LTO tape drives
  • Digital asset / media management systems

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
