Overview
The Manager of FAS-SEAS Academic AV oversees a team of AV professionals supporting instructional and event technology across 350+ classrooms. Serving as the primary point of contact for AV issue escalation, the Manager provides expert guidance on AV technologies, ensures timely and accurate service ticket management, and partners closely with faculty, staff, and campus departments to maintain high-quality learning environments. The role collaborates with FAS-SEAS IT and AVSD on classroom technology deployments, contributes to IT committees, and uses data-driven insights to improve operations and support the evolving needs of the University.

1.Lead and supervise a team of AV professionals supporting instructional and event technology across 350+ classrooms.2.Serve as the primary point of contact for triage and escalation of AV issues. 3.Provides guidance to faculty and staff on a broad range of AV technologies.4.Build and maintain relationships with FAS and SEAS departments to support classroom technology needs. 5.Coordinate AV technician for scheduling and assist with daily AV team operations. 6.Participate in IT committees, conferences, and contribute to broader technology initiatives. 7.Provide development and training opportunities for direct reports. 8.Escalate classroom-related issues to the Registrar's Office as needed. 9.Direct clients to appropriate campus partners (e.g., Accessibility, Facilities, Security) to ensure instructional spaces remain functional.
10. Assures support calls are converted into accurate, timely service tickets and assigned appropriately. 11.Collaborate with FAS-SEAS IT and AVSD on deployment and maintenance of classroom computers. 12.Use data to guide decision-making, evaluate outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement making, evaluate outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required Skills and Abilities

3.Proven ability to lead and manage staff.
4.Proven expertise with systems analysis methods and techniques.
5.Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

1.Experience working in higher education or large, complex institutions. Management experience including bargaining unit staff.

2.Familiarity with classroom computer management and deployment workflows.

3.Participation in IT or AV committees, conferences, or professional organizations.

4.Knowledge of accessibility, facilities, and security considerations within instructional environments.

5.AV industry certifications (e.g., CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D) or equivalent credentials.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Provides supervision to a unit or group of operational or technical employees.
2. Establishes and delegates day-to day tasks to meet unit/department objectives.
3. Ensures compliance with department, University policies, procedures, and internal controls.
4. Ensures accountability and stewardship of operational, financial and staff resources in compliance with department & University standards.
5. Oversees and manages segments of larger projects, developmental trainings, presentations, and communications.
6. Provides coaching, training, and mentorship to level 1 and 2 staff and/or non-exempt staff.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and four years of experience or equivalent education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Proven ability to lead and manage staff.
