Job Overview
Our client, a large state government health and human services organization, is seeking an experienced MMIS Senior Business Analyst to join their Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team. This role focuses on Provider Reimbursement and Claims processing functional areas, supporting development, testing, and implementation of projects to meet the objectives of the state Medicaid program. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare IT knowledge, Medicaid systems experience, and a thorough understanding of the systems development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases based on written requirements
- Execute and review test runs; sign off on testing components
- Document requirements and participate in development and testing activities
- Support development of end-user training materials and documentation
- Monitor system change execution and implementation strategies during stabilization phases
- Work with vendors to ensure business requirements are fully defined and tested
- Communicate updates and changes to impacted stakeholders
- Represent MMIS in business meetings as needed
- Perform data query and analysis
- Provide backup support to other business analysts as needed
Required Skills
- Business Analysis across all phases of the SDLC
- HIPAA claims and payment transaction processing
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional project teams
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with PMs, developers, BAs, QA analysts, and business stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Medicaid / MMIS systems experience
- Knowledge of MassHealth program operations
- Agile methodology experience
- Healthcare administration background
Location & Work Model
Hybrid — combination of in-office (Quincy, MA) and work from home. Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Accessible by public transportation.
Engagement Details
Contract engagement. Standard 37.5-hour work week; no overtime. CORI background check required. Photo ID required for interview. All hires begin approximately 3 weeks after acceptance.
