Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer for an Onsite position with a Global Medical Technology Company located in San Jose, CA. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. As a Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test plans and test strategies for embedded software, firmware, and hardware-integrated products. This role requires a strong understanding of system-level verification, including analyzing requirements, creating detailed test cases, executing tests, and troubleshooting defects through root-cause analysis. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure product quality and support regulatory submissions.
Responsibilities: - Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test strategies for embedded software, firmware, and hardware-integrated products
- Analyze requirements, create detailed test cases, and define test protocols
- Execute manual and automated tests, document results, and troubleshoot defects through root-cause analysis
- Utilize command-line tools, log files, physical probing, and other test methods to validate product performance
- Prepare clear and accurate test reports that summarize execution results, defects, and verification outcomes for cross-functional review
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to align testing activities and continuously improve test methods
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computers, or equivalent field
- 2-5 years of experience analyzing requirements and creating detailed test cases, test plans, and test protocols
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with manual and automated testing of embedded systems (hardware and software/firmware)
- 2-5 years of experience troubleshooting defects and performing root cause analysis
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Desired skills: - Usage of command line tools
- Working knowledge of C, C#
- Experience with FDA regulated products
- Knowledge of regulatory processes (510K submissions)
Pay range: $63.00 - $73.00 per hour
