Job DescriptionWe are seeking
Fiber Technicians / Data Center Technicians for a long-term data center project in Sandston, VA. Candidates with data center experience are encouraged to apply, and a comprehensive training program is available for qualified technicians.
Schedule- Four-day work week (40 hours)
- Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday
- Start time: 7:00 AM
- Technicians must arrive at the designated shuttle location by 6:30 AM for transportation to the job site
Responsibilities- Pull and install fiber optic cabling
- Install and work with backbone fiber, including:
- 288-count fiber
- 144-count fiber
- Install and connect pre-terminated fiber into cassettes
- Perform cable dressing, labeling, and organization
- Complete low-voltage cabling installations
- Install wireless access points (WAPs) and phone systems as needed
- Assist with fiber testing and troubleshooting using:
- Fluke testing equipment
- OTDR testing equipment
- Follow all data center standards, safety requirements, and project procedures
Qualifications- Data center experience preferred
- Fiber optic installation experience preferred
- Knowledge of low-voltage cabling infrastructure
- Experience with fiber testing and troubleshooting is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction or data center environment
- Lift certification preferred for lead technicians and select team members
Training- Comprehensive training program provided for qualified technicians

Top SkillsData Center Cabling Experience- Cable installation, pulling, routing, dressing, and rack-and-stack experience
- Experience with pre-terminated fiber preferred
- Any prior data center cabling experience is highly valued
Fiber Optic Experience- Fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Experience with OTDR and Fluke testing equipment preferred

Business DriverThe organization is expanding its data center infrastructure and increasing project capacity. Additional technicians are needed to support ongoing growth, site expansion, and long-term operational demands.
Why Is the Position Open?The team is being restructured to support long-term project growth. Additional technicians are needed to build new teams and support expanding workloads across multiple phases of the project.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
