TITLE :Senior Oracle Cloud HCM Solution Developer
Location: Remote Role
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Oracle Cloud HCM Solution Developer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, and optimization of application solutions within Oracle
Cloud HCM, with a strong focus on Time and Labor, Payroll, Oracle Recruiting Cloud (Hiring, Onboarding), Journeys, and Workflow.
This role serves as a senior techno-functional expert, leveraging Oracle Cloud–native tools to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that enhance business
processes and user experience. The developer works closely with functional stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams to translate complex business
requirements into effective Oracle Cloud HCM solutions, while ensuring alignment with institutional standards and best practices.
The role is expected to be approximately 60% hands-on technical development and 40% functional configuration, process design, and stakeholder collaboration, and is
required to be on-site, with alternative work options available as a benefit.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Associate Vice President or the Executive Director of Finance Strategy and
Operations
Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES – May include, but not limited to the following:
Application Design, Development, and Support (75%)
· Serve as a senior Oracle Cloud HCM application solution developer, providing
and deploying custom solutions using native Oracle Cloud tools.
· Design, configure, and optimize solutions across Oracle Cloud HCM modules.
· Lead and support ORC application configurations, tailored to organizational and
compliance needs.
· Design and implement recruitment and onboarding process automation,
improving efficiency and user experience.
· Analyze existing configurations, workflows, and custom logic to identify
optimization opportunities.
· Develop, maintain, and optimize Fast Formulas, including analysis of existing
formulas and creation of new logic as required.
· Design and optimize HCM workflows and approvals, ensuring alignment with
business processes and security requirements.
· Develop and support custom extensions and applications using tools such as
VBCS, APEX, ATP, REST APIs, Oracle AI-enabled features, and other Oracle
Cloud–native development tools.
· Write and maintain PL/SQL code and complex SQL queries to support data
validation, logic processing, troubleshooting, and custom solutions.
Architecture, Optimization, and Continuous Improvement (15%)
· Provide strong technical expertise in Oracle Cloud HCM architecture, data
models, and module interactions.
· Support and collaborate on integrations and data flows between HCM, ORC,
Payroll, and other Oracle Cloud HCM modules.
· Ensure solutions adhere to Oracle Cloud best practices, performance standards,
security guidelines, and sustainable, scalable customization principles.
· Identify opportunities to simplify configurations, reduce technical debt, and
improve maintainability.
· Stay current on Oracle Cloud HCM quarterly updates, new features, and
roadmap changes, assessing impacts and opportunities for improvement.
Participation & Collaboration (10%)
· Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert for Oracle Cloud HCM and
ORC solutions.
· Work independently on complex initiatives while collaborating effectively with
functional, integration, reporting, security, infrastructure, and FSO leadership
teams.
· Lead technical workstreams or initiatives related to HCM enhancements and
continuous improvement.
· Gather, document, and translate business requirements into clear technical
designs and solution approaches.
· Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to ensure long-term
supportability and operational continuity.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree required. Additional job-related experience may substitute for the
required education on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum seven years of experience supporting and developing solutions for Oracle
Cloud HCM, including senior-level experience with Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) and
related HCM modules.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regularly scheduled days and
work hours is an essential function of this position.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES – The following are
essential:
· Senior-level experience as an Oracle Cloud HCM application solution developer.
· Deep understanding of Oracle Cloud HCM, with strong expertise in ORC, Hiring,
Journeys, and Workflow.
· Proven experience designing, configuring, and optimizing Oracle Fusion HCM
solutions, particularly in Talent Acquisition and onboarding.
· Strong hands-on experience with Fast Formulas, including analysis and
development.
· Experience with Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) and Oracle APEX.
· Experience working with Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) and
REST-based integrations.
· Proficiency in PL/SQL and SQL, including complex queries for validation,
troubleshooting, and logic support.
· Familiarity with Oracle Cloud HCM AI-enabled and generative AI capabilities, and
the ability to responsibly evaluate and apply them to enhance employee
experience.
· Understanding of Oracle Cloud integrations, data flow, and system architecture.
· Experience supporting reporting and dashboards in partnership with reporting
teams.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into
technical solutions.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead initiatives and work independently.
· Proactive, self-driven, and committed, with the ability to research, evaluate, and
implement best practices.
Additional/Desirable Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Experience in a higher education or public sector environment.
· Familiarity with FERPA, HIPAA, SOC 2, TAC 202, or similar regulatory
requirements.
· Experience supporting complex HR, payroll, and benefits environments.
· Familiarity with Oracle HCM-EPM integrations.
