A rapidly growing robotics and warehouse automation company in the Greater Boston area is hiring a full-time Software Engineering Manager, Motion Planning to lead and scale a team developing advanced motion planning software for industrial robotic systems. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and robotics software development, with a focus on motion planning, robotic manipulation, controls algorithms, simulation, and production deployment. Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in robotics software development
2+ years of experience managing or leading engineering teams
Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
Experience with ROS or other robotics software frameworks
Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews, coaching, and technical leadership
Strong understanding of robotics software development lifecycle and best practices
Experience collaborating across product, software, and hardware teams
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Experience troubleshooting complex robotic systems and software issues
Desired Skills & Experience
Knowledge of motion planning algorithms such as RRT, trajectory optimization, and model predictive control (MPC)
Experience with robotic manipulators and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)
Familiarity with simulation platforms such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or similar tools
Experience deploying robotics software into production environments
Strong understanding of controls systems and robotic autonomy architectures
Experience working in warehouse automation, logistics, or industrial robotics environments
Passion for staying current with emerging robotics research and technologies
Experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments
