Job Title: Sr Payroll Coordinator
Position Type: Contract for 5 Months

Description:
One of our clients is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely processing of employee compensation. This role works closely with Payroll Management, Accounting, HR, and Benefits teams to maintain compliance and deliver high-quality payroll services.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Administration
· Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees (exempt and non-exempt)
· Audit payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes
· Review and validate timesheets from the time management system
· Prepare manual checks and adjustments as needed
· Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of federal, state, and Social Security withholdings
· Reconcile payroll reports and financial data
· Maintain accurate and timely payroll records
Compliance, Policy Interpretation & System Management
· Interpret and apply company pay policies, including vacation, leave of absence, disability, and workers'' compensation
· Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll laws and stay current on regulatory changes
· Support internal and external audits, including tax filings and workers'' compensation documentation
· Document payroll processes and procedures
· Serve as a liaison between employees and third-party payroll vendors
· Configure and maintain payroll and time management systems (earnings, deductions, garnishments, etc.)
Reporting & Vendor Coordination
· Assist with payroll reporting for Accounting, HR, and Benefits teams (per payroll, monthly, quarterly, annually)
· Create and upload payroll tax and direct deposit files to external vendors
Projects & Continuous Improvement
· Participate in special projects and process improvements as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
· Experience with payroll processing in a multi-employee environment
· Strong understanding of payroll compliance and tax regulations
· High attention to detail with strong analytical and reconciliation skills
· Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
· Proficiency in payroll systems, preferably Dayforce
· Strong communication and organizational skills
