Integration – Interoperability / Solution Architect
Location: Remote
Engagement Type: Contract to Hire
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Integration – Interoperability / Solution Architect to design, implement, and support healthcare data integration solutions. This role requires strong hands‑on expertise in healthcare interoperability standards, API‑driven architectures, and modern AI‑enabled integration platforms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate solution‑level thinking, strong technical depth, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable integration designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and integrate healthcare data received from clients across multiple systems
- Design interoperability solutions using RESTful APIs, FHIR, and X12 standards
- Provide solutioning support and make architecture‑level decisions
- Create and maintain data‑flow diagrams, solution architecture diagrams, and technical documentation
- Work closely with stakeholders to support payer‑to‑payer integrations and utilization management workflows
- Support production environments and troubleshoot integration issues
- Leverage AI and modern tools to enhance integration and decision‑making processes
Required Skills & Experience
Healthcare Integration & Interoperability
- Strong expertise in HL7, FHIR, X12, CCDA, EDI, and web services
- Hands‑on experience with FHIR interfaces and healthcare APIs
- Experience with X12 transaction standards, especially 278 (Utilization Management) and 834 (Enrollment)
- Payer‑to‑payer integration experience
- Deep knowledge of utilization management workflows
- Experience with Mirth Connect and HL7 interface development
- NextGen Mirth Connect experience is preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs and JSON data formatting standards
- SQL proficiency
- Experience working with IDEs and integration development tools
- Production support experience for integration platforms
Solutioning & Architecture
- 2–3 years of experience in solutioning or integration architecture
- Ability to design and document end‑to‑end integration solutions
- Demonstrated capability in solution‑level decision making and architecture design
AI & Modern Technology Experience
- Hands‑on experience with AI / modern technologies (mandatory)
- Exposure to AI tools such as OpenAI / GenAI platforms
- Experience or familiarity with Azure cloud services
Nice to Have
- Healthcare payer or provider domain experience
- Experience working in remote, cross‑functional teams
- Exposure to modern integration and interoperability frameworks
