Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Akeneo PIM Configuration & Integration Specialist to design, configure, and optimize our Akeneo environment and its integrations with Salesforce and our ERP. This role will partner closely with business and technical teams to ensure high-quality product data, robust governance, and reliable data flows across all channels.
Key Responsibilities - Own end-to-end configuration of Akeneo PIM, including data model (families, attributes, categories), locales, channels, and complete rules.
- Design and implement product data governance, workflows, and permissions for content creation, enrichment, review, and approval.
- Analyze current product data sources (ERP, Salesforce, eCommerce, legacy systems, spreadsheets) and define a scalable target data model and taxonomy.
- Lead and support integrations between Akeneo, Salesforce (CRM/Commerce/Service), and ERP, including attribute mapping, API configuration, and connector setup.
- Configure and maintain imports/exports, data flows, and automation jobs to keep product data synchronized and accurate across systems.
- Drive best practices for product data quality, including validation rules, data quality dashboards, and remediation processes.
- Support and execute data migration activities into Akeneo (profiling, cleansing, mapping, test loads, reconciliation).
- Document configuration, integration patterns, and data standards; create and maintain playbooks for ongoing operations.
- Train business users, product teams, and IT on Akeneo usage, enrichment processes, and how product data is consumed in Salesforce and downstream channels.
- Continuously monitor system performance, data quality, and user feedback to recommend and implement improvements.
Required Qualifications - 3-5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and configuring Akeneo PIM (Community or Enterprise) or similar PIM platforms, with at least one end-to-end Akeneo implementation.
- Strong experience designing PIM data models: attributes, families, categories, reference entities, and assets.
- Proven experience integrating Akeneo with at least one major ERP (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience integrating Akeneo with Salesforce (Commerce Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or B2B/B2C commerce), using standard connectors, APIs, or middleware.
- Solid understanding of product data governance, taxonomy, and data quality practices in an omnichannel or eCommerce context.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical PIM configuration and integration designs.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and common integration patterns; experience with iPaaS/ESB tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders (business, IT, data, and vendors).
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and organizational skills; comfortable owning work from design through delivery.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in B2B or B2C commerce environments with large or complex product catalogs.
- Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud or other modern commerce platforms.
- Exposure to product content/marketing operations, digital asset management (DAM), or PXM concepts.
- Experience in agile project environments and working with distributed/remote teams.
