Apex Systems is seeking a Quality Technician based out of Hanahan, SC.

Quality Technician

Location: Hanahan, South Carolina (On-site)

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a Product Acceptance Specialist to join a supplier quality receiving inspection team. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and integrity of all incoming materials and components. This position acts as a key defense against defects and non-conformances in the supply chain by writing tags and documenting nonconformances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write tags for nonconformances.
  • Verify product conformance to design requirements.
  • Provide objective evidence of inspection results.
  • Perform auditing, surveillance, and monitoring.
  • Identify and document discrepancies.
  • Segregate and control non-conforming items.
  • Conduct product reviews with the customer during product or process verification.
  • Identify repetitive or significant non-conformances and initiate requests for corrective action.
Required Qualifications

Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience: Previous experience in a quality inspection role within this specific organization is required. This includes experience with the organization's internal systems, such as Velocity, and experience writing tags for nonconformances.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and various gauges.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).


Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in quality inspection, particularly in manufacturing or aerospace environments.
  • Experience with First Article Inspections (FAI).
  • Familiarity with quality standards and specifications, such as AS9100.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) like SAP or Oracle.
  • Experience using quality management software.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of defects.
Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is $28.00/hr to $32.97/hr. A comprehensive benefits package may be available to eligible employees. This includes health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, and life and disability insurance programs.
