Lead Test Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Lead Test Engineer in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities:
* Lead system integration testing (manual and automated) for new and enhanced applications
* Translate business and functional requirements into effective test strategies and results
* Define and guide test automation approaches across design, build, and execution phases
* Partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and other technical teams throughout delivery
* Track test milestones, risks, and issues impacting delivery timelines
* Design end-to-end business scenarios aligned to objectives and goals
* Support delivery pipeline adoption and reusable automation frameworks
* Identify environment and data dependencies for testing
* Ensure process compliance, documentation, and risk/control alignment
* Build deep product knowledge and collaborate with domain experts to improve system understanding
* Support project coordination and technical management activities

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
* 6+ years of experience delivering software solutions with strong hands-on automated testing
* Deep knowledge of the software testing lifecycle, methodologies, and automation frameworks
* Strong expertise in Java-based test automation using Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, and related tools
* Proficient in UI, API, and backend automation (Selenium WebDriver, Rest Assured/Karate, JDBC/JPA)
* Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (Jenkins, CloudBees, Git, Bitbucket)
* Ability to write complex SQL queries; experience with Oracle, DB2, or Snowflake
* Skilled in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including onsite/offshore delivery models
* Track test milestones, risks, and issues impacting delivery timelines
* Experience with test and defect management tools (JIRA, ALM)
* Mentor junior test engineers and review work products for quality and consistency
* Ensure process compliance, documentation, and risk/control alignment
* Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Unix, Python, and AWS experience a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
