AV Technician Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AV Technician to provide hands-on installation expertise and on-site leadership for commercial audiovisual projects. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage daily field operations while delivering high-quality AV installations.
The AV Technician Lead serves as the primary technical authority on assigned job sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project documentation, industry standards, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

AV Installation & Technical Leadership

• Lead the installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of commercial AV systems
• Serve as the on-site technical point of contact for assigned projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, control, and connectivity issues
• Ensure all installations align with project designs, specifications, and manufacturer guidelines

AV Systems & Technologies

Install, configure, and support commercial AV solutions including:

• Conference rooms, boardrooms, and collaboration spaces
• Training rooms and classrooms
• Video conferencing systems and digital signage

Hands-on experience with AV components such as:

• Displays, projectors, and projection screens
• Speakers, microphones, amplifiers, and DSPs
• Control systems
• Structured cabling and related infrastructure

Team Leadership & Job-Site Management

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to AV Technicians and Installers
• Assign daily tasks and monitor progress against project schedules
• Coordinate field activities with Project Managers, Engineers, and other trades
• Enforce safety standards and maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $37.00/hr.
