We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior MongoDB DBA to join our 247 follow-the-sun operations team, ensuring global service availability and providing expert database administration.
This position involves collaborating within a global support structure and adapting to rotating schedules to maintain uninterrupted service.

Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and manage large-scale MongoDB deployments such as replica sets and sharded clusters
- Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and workload analysis
- Design and oversee backup/restore strategies, DR planning, PITR, and high availability configuration
- Execute major upgrade activities, schema design improvements, cloud migrations, and version upgrades
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues with locking, replication lag, sharding balancer, and storage performance
- Develop monitoring, alerting, and automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency
- Mentor L1/L2 DBAs and contribute to knowledge sharing through best practices and documentation
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to align on data modeling, integration tasks, and release management
Requirements
- 3+ years of proven experience managing large, critical MongoDB production environments
- Deep understanding of MongoDB internals, including replication mechanics, sharding architecture, balancer tuning, and WiredTiger storage engine
- Skills in performance tuning, index optimization, and execution plan analysis
- Background in diagnosing and resolving replica set and sharded cluster issues
- Proficiency in Linux administration, scripting (Shell or Python), and automation frameworks
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools specific to MongoDB
- Familiarity with at least one additional RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL)
- English language proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
Nice to have
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure cloud database solutions
- Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas, encryption-at-rest, and multi-cloud cluster configurations
- Exposure to Kafka, microservices, and handling high-volume data streaming workloads
- Background in building internal tools or automation for database management and monitoring
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Ansible
