Golang Architect / Engineer

Role Overview

The Golang Architect/ Engineer is a senior individual contributor with endtoend technical and delivery ownership for complex backend and frontend systems. This role is responsible for translating roadmaplevel architectural vision into clear execution plans, while ensuring alignment with enterprise engineering standards, governance, and nonfunctional requirements (NFRs).

The engineer will own the full lifecycle of solutions from POC MVP GA postGA refinement and act as the primary technical escalation point for Engineer II and Engineer III team members. The role partners closely with Staff Architects, platform teams, and senior stakeholders, driving technical direction, resiliency, observability, and operational readiness.

Experience Required

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven experience leading endtoend delivery of largescale, cloudnative systems

• Golang (Go) - deep expertise in idiomatic Go
• Distributed systems and cloudnative architectures
• Open Policy Agent (OPA) and policydriven enforcement models
• Strong understanding of NonFunctional Requirements (NFRs):

  • Security posture

Platform & DevOps

• Kubernetes (designing and evolving cluster foundations)
• Docker (containerization standards and best practices)
• GitHub (branching, workflows, governance)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, XLR, integrated DevSecOps)

Frontend (Preferred but Important)

• React frontend architecture and implementation
• OneAppbased applications (highly preferred)
• Strong frontend/backend contract alignment and performance optimization

Key Responsibilities

Backend Architecture & Development

• Design and implement highly scalable backend services using Golang
• Build and maintain integrations with platform, CI/CD, and changemanagement tooling
• Apply phased policy enforcement using OPA (audit warn enforce gate)
• Ensure secure, performant, and resilient backend services

Frontend Architecture & Development

• Lead frontend architecture and implementation using React
• Develop and maintain OneAppbased applications
• Ensure strong API contracts between frontend and backend systems

Data Modeling & Systems Design

• Define data models, schemas, and system artifacts
• Design efficient, secure, and scalable data storage and dataflow patterns
• Ensure system designs meet both functional and NFR requirements

EndtoEnd Delivery Ownership

• Own delivery across the full lifecycle: POC MVP GA PostGA
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and architectural governance
• Take accountability for delivery outcomes, risk mitigation, and readiness

Quality, Stability & Performance

• Define and enforce QA strategies and testing frameworks
• Implement regression and automated test integrations
• Lead performance, load, and resiliency testing initiatives
• Drive continuous improvements in stability and scalability

Observability (O11Y)

• Design and integrate metrics, logging, tracing, alerting
• Ensure systems meet operational expectations and defined SLOs
• Enable proactive monitoring and rapid incident response

Architecture & Governance

• Produce and maintain architecture diagrams and ADRs (Draw.io or similar tools)
• Ensure technical alignment with senior stakeholders
• Participate in and influence architecture and governance forums

Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical direction and mentorship to Engineer II & III roles
• Act as the primary technical escalation point
• Perform design reviews, tradeoff analysis, and prioritization
• Translate architectural vision into actionable execution plans
• Partner with Staff Architects to align nearterm delivery with longterm strategy
