Your role
In this role at Calvert, you'll play a critical part in accelerating the transition of breakthrough product development work from our East Chicago R&D center directly into full-scale production at AM Calvert. You will collaborate closely with both the Calvert and East Chicago Product Development teams, working in a highly integrated, fast-paced environment where ideas quickly become reality. Beyond executing industrial trials, you'll be empowered to adapting processes in real time and making data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes. Your work will span hot rolled products (non-automotive) as well as Advanced High Strength Steels for the automotive sector-contributing directly to innovation in high-performance materials.
Main tasks
- Understand product development efforts at R&D and scale it up
- Make changes to industrial trials which are based on lab scale simulations
- Efficient planning of trials and tracking of trial materials
- Interact with both R&D and Industry personnel
- Arrange for testing and microscopic characterization at Calvert and interpret results
What we're looking for
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Materials Science/Metallurgy/Chemical/Mechanical
- A person that thrives at the intersection of research, production and innovation
