Job Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving software quality standards, processes, and procedures. This role focuses on software inspection, testing, verification, validation, and ensuring compliance with project and industry requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and business operations.

Hybrid schedule:

Remote: Monday & Tuesday

Onsite: Wednesday & Thursday

Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and maintain quality requirements, standards, procedures, and work instructions.

Conduct software inspections, testing, verification, and validation activities.

Implement and improve software development and maintenance processes.

Ensure quality processes align with project objectives, contractual requirements, and industry practices.

Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards.

Evaluate specifications, materials, tools, methodologies, and engineering techniques.

Verify requirement allocations, traceability, and testability across the product lifecycle.

Perform and/or lead Design and Process FMEAs (D/PFMEA).

Conduct procedure compliance assessments, process audits, and product audits.

Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards.

Support inspection of electronic circuit cards and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Manage non-conforming materials and lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

Lead cross-functional root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Fault Tree Analysis, Standard Work, FMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.

Execute First Article Inspections per AS9102 requirements.

Provide oversight and guidance on supplier quality assurance and supplier process control.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, program teams, finance, suppliers, and customers.

Drive continuous improvement in design, manufacturing, and business processes.

Manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines in a hybrid work environment.

Deliver clear communication, presentations, and reporting to various stakeholders.

Support daily supplier interactions and ensure effective oversight of special processes.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience.

Experience developing or reviewing quality requirements, standards, procedures, and control plans.

Hands-on experience performing Design and Process FMEAs (D/PFMEA).

Strong understanding of process, product, and procedure compliance assessments.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and industry specifications.

Knowledge of inspection methods for electronic circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Experience handling non-conformances and leading MRB activities.

Background in leading cross-functional teams in root cause and corrective/preventive actions.

Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.

Experience performing AS9102 First Article Inspections.

Experience in supplier quality assurance or supplier quality engineering.

Experience working with government or regulated industry customers.

Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Effective interpersonal skills including collaboration, problem-solving, team building, and communication.

Ability to work effectively with engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, customers, and other stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Project, and Visio.

Knowledge of special processes and daily supplier management practices.
