Description:

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for driving product and process excellence across manufacturing and engineering operations. This role ensures that quality standards are met through rigorous data analysis, proactive issue resolution, and cross-functional collaboration. You will lead quality investigations, manage corrective actions, strengthen quality systems, and support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Analytics & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze quality metrics and trends to develop data-driven insights that support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities, including Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), 5-Whys, and countermeasure development.
  • Support tiered management and structured escalation processes to ensure timely visibility and resolution of critical issues.
Operational Quality Support
  • Partner closely with operators and manufacturing teams to communicate, confirm, and reinforce quality requirements.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to verify measurement capability, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Lead containment efforts for quality issues to minimize production impact and ensure safe product release.
  • Facilitate and participate in preliminary reviews for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Systems, Audits & Documentation
  • Support development and maintenance of inspection plans, control plans, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Perform internal process audits and respond to Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
  • Review technical documents and contractual quality requirements to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
  • Contribute to counterfeit part control processes and help define appropriate risk mitigation methods.
Advanced Quality Engineering
  • Lead or support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to verify design intent and manufacturability.
  • Manage work packages and support Basis of Estimate (BOE) creation to accurately define project scope.
  • Champion ROI-driven quality improvements that elevate product integrity and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field; or 10+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated industries.
