Summary

A senior-level Control Engineer with extensive experience in designing and supporting process control systems in the petrochemical and pipeline sectors. This role involves leading engineering initiatives, providing technical guidance, and ensuring seamless integration of control systems for refined products and pipeline operations. The position requires a proactive professional capable of collaborating across organizational levels and supporting complex process control environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support process control systems for pipeline and refining operations.
  • Provide engineering and technical support for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Assist in defining project scope, developing estimates, and providing technical guidance for process control projects.
  • Support local operations by offering guidance on process control system improvements and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain documentation according to industry standards for safety, control loop tuning, and system configuration.
  • Configure and program HMI and PLC platforms, including Wonderware InTouch and Allen Bradley ControlLogix systems.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning activities to ensure operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Support safety systems integration and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide on-call support and travel domestically up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in process control system implementation within storage and pipeline environments, or at least 3 years with relevant expertise.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards for documentation, loop tuning, safety systems, and PLC configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with various HMI and PLC platforms, especially Wonderware Intouch and Allen Bradley ControlLogix.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and climb ladders as part of site support activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with operations teams, contractors, and management.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.
  • Ability to be on call 24/7 as required by project needs.

Publishing Pay Range: $120,000 - $125,000

This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
