Your role at GEI.
The AI Architect is responsible for designing and leading AI-based solutions and services to select the optimal architecture for GEI's priority digital and AI initiatives. This role owns the end-to-end solution architecture for AI and agent-based systems, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-effective while aligned with GEI governance, cloud, and data standards.
The AI Architect translates business needs into practical AI solution designs across data, models, applications, and AI extensibility layers. This role plays a hands-on leadership role in active AI Solutions Factory use cases, guiding architectural decisions, identifying technical and operational risks, and defining mitigation strategies to ensure solutions are production-ready and sustainable.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and lead AI-based solutions and services, selecting optimal architectures aligned with GEI's cloud, data, and security standards.
- Define and maintain AI reference architecture patterns for platforms such as Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Copilot extensions, and related integrations.
- Lead solution architecture for priority AI use cases, including hands-on design, technical decision-making, and architecture reviews.
- Identify technical, security, data, and delivery risks associated with AI solutions and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Embed Responsible AI principles into solution designs, including privacy, security, transparency, and model risk management.
- Partner with GEI enterprise architecture, IT, and delivery teams to harmonize AI, cloud, and data standards.
- Create and maintain architecture decision records, solution diagrams, and deployment guidance to support consistent implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture, including 3+ years in applied AI or machine learning solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, cognitive search, vector databases, and API integrations.
- Strong understanding of identity, networking, data governance, and security within cloud-based environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design discussions, manage stakeholders, and coach engineering teams.
