Insider Threat Program UAM Engineer

Location: Hybrid/Onsite Lorton, VA

Long Term Contract to Hire

Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance Required or TS held within the past 2 years

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insider Threat Program UAM Engineer to support a critical federal program focused on insider threat detection, monitoring, and cybersecurity operations. This role will support enterprise User Activity Monitoring (UAM) capabilities and associated infrastructure while partnering with stakeholders to enhance monitoring coverage, system performance, and operational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will bring recent hands-on experience supporting UAM technologies, strong technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate in a highly secure environment.

Security Clearance Requirements
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance, or candidates who held an active TS clearance within the last two years.
  • Candidates must be eligible to obtain a DHS EOD SCI prior to start.
  • SCI eligibility is required; active SCI is not required at the time of application.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support enterprise User Activity Monitoring (UAM) solutions, including updates, deployments, configuration changes, and ongoing sustainment activities.
  • Perform maintenance and operational support to ensure UAM functionality and reliability across the enterprise.
  • Identify and resolve monitoring and coverage gaps.
  • Partner with analysts and stakeholders to implement new configurations, data feeds, and monitoring enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and configuration baselines.
  • Assist with training activities and knowledge transfer related to UAM tools and processes.
  • Support certification and personnel development initiatives as directed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting UAM platforms and supporting infrastructure.
  • Participate in system improvements that strengthen monitoring, compliance, and insider threat detection capabilities.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Recent hands-on experience supporting, administering, or engineering User Activity Monitoring (UAM) tools and platforms.
  • Experience with Everfox (formerly Forcepoint) UAM or similar User Activity Monitoring solutions.
  • Prior leadership or team coordination responsibilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing technical documentation, analyses, reports, and operational procedures.
  • Experience preparing and delivering briefings to leadership and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to obtain a DHS EOD SCI.
  • Experience supporting secure enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of IT operations, engineering, or service delivery experience.
  • Extensive experience with User Activity Monitoring technologies and platforms.
  • Experience supporting Everfox solutions or comparable high-speed guard platforms.
  • Experience supporting insider threat, cybersecurity, security operations, or enterprise monitoring programs.
  • Knowledge of secure federal environments and compliance-focused operations.
