Title: Technical Strategy Project Manager
Location: McLean, VA
Looking for candidates with experience either running a large agile program. Not individual teams, but actually responsible for large scale program management/planning. Sequencing and managing multiple work streams, executive communications, change management / adoption.
5 days/week on site in McLean, VA - only considering local candidates
We are seeking a Technical Strategy Project Manager to lead large-scale data and digital transformation programs for a major financial services client. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and delivery, with responsibility for program execution, PMO governance, and senior stakeholder communication.
The Technical Strategy Project Manager will operate as the PMO lead and trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, ensuring delivery rigor across data, engineering, and business workstreams. The role requires the ability to translate complex program information into clear, decision-ready insights for senior leadership.
This role is fully onsite in McLean, VA, five days per week, and requires close collaboration with client leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage large-scale data and digital transformation programs
Own PMO governance, program planning, and execution across multiple workstreams
Coordinate delivery across data, engineering, and business teams
Track milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies and drive resolution
Prepare and deliver executive-level program status, insights, and decision materials
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring transparency and delivery rigor
Qualifications
Experience leading or managing large-scale data or digital transformation programs
Strong background in PMO leadership and delivery management across complex initiatives
Solid understanding of data transformation concepts, including data mapping, profiling, conversion, and testing
Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior and executive stakeholders
Advanced PowerPoint skills with experience producing executive-ready materials
Ability and willingness to work onsite in McLean, VA, five days per week
Preferred Experience
Financial services or mortgage-domain experience
Exposure to regulated or highly governed data environments
Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, migrations, or cloud transformations
Consulting, strategy, or transformation delivery background
