Apex SystemsJob Summary
The Install Technician III plays a pivotal role in the management, training, installation, and implementation of security systems. This role ensures client needs are met with the highest levels of quality and professionalism in support of U.S. Navy Programs in the National Capital Region, including Washington, DC and Maryland.
Key Responsibilities
Security System Installation- Serve as the installation lead, configuring, programming, and maintaining a wide range of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and other security technologies
Conduit, Cabling, and Wiring- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling and conduit
- Ensure installations comply with industry standards and best practices
System Integration & Programming- Integrate, program, and troubleshoot security system components
- Ensure systems function as a cohesive, reliable solution
Equipment Setup- Configure and program security equipment such as cameras, access control panels, and alarms according to project specifications and customer requirements
Quality Assurance- Perform system testing and inspections
- Ensure installed systems operate efficiently and meet quality standards
Documentation- Maintain accurate and detailed installation records, including wiring diagrams, configuration settings, as-built drawings, and project documentation
Customer Support- Provide training and technical support to clients regarding system operation and functionality
- Address concerns and support customer satisfaction
Safety and Compliance- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
- Maintain a safe working environment during installation projects
Troubleshooting- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with security systems
- Minimize disruption to client operations
Team Collaboration- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members
- Coordinate and execute installation projects within established timelines and budgets
Leadership- Manage junior technicians during installation projects
- Provide training and mentoring to field personnel
Other Duties- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics or a related field preferred
- Lenel OnGuard Certification (required)
- Security+ Certification (preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience installing and maintaining security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection
- Proven experience programming Lenel and Milestone technology
- Knowledge of low-voltage cabling, wiring, and termination techniques
- Familiarity with security equipment and software across various manufacturers
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lead a team of installers
- Ability to train other field personnel
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites as needed
