Oracle DBA

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with strong expertise in performance tuning to manage, optimize, and support mission-critical Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of databases across development, test, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c and above).

• Perform advanced database performance tuning at SQL, schema, and instance levels.

• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and OEM.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, I/O, and locking.

• Tune complex SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, and database parameters.

• Manage backup and recovery using RMAN; ensure disaster recovery readiness.

• Implement and manage high availability solutions such as Data Guard and RAC (if applicable).

• Perform database security administration: user management, roles, privileges, and auditing.

• Support application teams in schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

• Perform patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime.

• Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripts/PLSQL.

• Participate in on-call support and production issue resolution.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.

• Strong hands-on experience in performance tuning and optimization.

• Deep understanding of:

  • Oracle architecture and internals

  • SQL tuning, execution plans, statistics, and optimizer behavior

  • AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF

• Expertise in RMAN backup and recovery.

• Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard (preferred).

• Proficiency in Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting.

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.

• Experience with large-scale, high-volume OLTP systems.

• Exposure to cloud databases (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure).

• Experience with automation tools and monitoring frameworks.
