Description:

As a Senior Architect, you will drive the end-to-end architectural vision and technical strategy for Store Systems initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to define scalable, secure, and integrated architectural solutions that enable seamless retail operations. This role requires technical leadership, hands-on design expertise, and the ability to mentor engineering teams while influencing enterprise-wide architectural standards.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership & Solution Design
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of architectural solutions for Store Systems projects.
  • Define technical architectures that align with enterprise standards and business goals for retail store environments.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable, considering long-term business needs.
  • Oversee technical delivery, provide architecture governance, and ensure adherence to defined standards.
Requirements Analysis & Collaboration
  • Partner with product, engineering, business, and operations teams to gather, analyze, and refine requirements.
  • Translate complex business and functional requirements into clear, actionable technical designs.
  • Identify technical dependencies, constraints, integration touchpoints, and non-functional requirements.
  • Maintain transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle to confirm alignment on solutions.
Architecture Documentation & Technical Design
  • Develop comprehensive architecture artifacts including:
    • High-level and detailed design documents
    • Data flow diagrams
    • System component definitions
    • API and service interaction models
  • Review and validate design artifacts with developers, testers, vendors, and security teams.
Mentorship & Team Enablement
  • Mentor engineers and junior architects to support their professional growth.
  • Promote architectural best practices, development standards, and emerging methods.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing across teams.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Contribute to the evolution of enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption where relevant.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance design methodologies, processes, and toolsets.
  • Facilitate open collaboration and support idea generation, innovation frameworks, and technical communities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in architecture roles with a strong record of delivering enterprise solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle XStore and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of architectural design patterns, frameworks, and modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in system integration, API design, and aligning technology solutions with business strategy.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • TOGAF certification (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience with:
    • Oracle RMS, Oracle PL/SQL
    • UrbanCode Deploy, GitHub
    • WebLogic and integration tools (e.g., Informatica)
    • Azure services and cloud-native design
    • Java, Android, Snowflake
  • Ability to balance technical depth with strategic thinking-comfortable diving into details while maintaining a big-picture view.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts simply and effectively.
