The team is growing so we are seeking a Microsoft Purview & Microsoft 365 Copilot Consultant to design, implement, and optimize enterprise compliance, data governance, and AI readiness solutions using Microsoft technologies.
This role is responsible for enabling Microsoft Purview capabilities—information protection, data loss prevention (DLP), records management, eDiscovery, and data governance—and preparing, deploying, and governing Microsoft 365 Copilot across customer environments.
You will work closely with security, compliance, legal, data, and business stakeholders to ensure that Copilot is deployed safely, securely, and in alignment with organizational data governance and regulatory requirements. The role blends hands-on technical implementation, solution architecture, advisory consulting, and AI readiness enablement. Long term goal is to be able to convert contractor position to a full time role.
Purview Solution Architecture & Governance
- Design end-to-end Microsoft Purview architectures covering:
- Information Protection (Sensitivity Labels, Encryption, Auto-labeling)
- Data Loss Prevention (M365, Endpoint, and Cloud App DLP)
- Data Lifecycle & Records Management
- Insider Risk Management and eDiscovery (Premium)
- Data Map & Data Catalog for structured and unstructured data
Microsoft 365 Copilot Readiness & Implementation
- Lead Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness assessments, including:
- Data oversharing and access risk analysis
- Sensitivity label and permission model review
- Design and implement Purview controls required for safe Copilot adoption, including:
- Sensitivity labeling strategies used by Copilot
- DLP policies affecting Copilot prompts and responses
- Restricted content handling and conditional access
- Advise customers on M365 Copilot governance models, usage policies, and adoption guardrails.
Implementation & Configuration
- Configure Microsoft Purview components including:
- Sensitivity labels and label policies
- Auto-labeling using sensitive info types and trainable classifiers
- Retention labels, event-based retention, and records management
- DLP policies for Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and endpoints
- Integrate Purview with:
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Endpoint DLP
- Azure data sources (Azure SQL, ADLS, Synapse, Power BI, Fabric)
- Ensure Purview configurations support Copilot scenarios without breaking productivity.
Operations & Optimization
- Lead testing, pilot programs, and production rollout for Copilot-enabled environments.
- Troubleshoot Purview and Copilot-related issues such as:
- Unexpected data exposure
- Label conflicts or inheritance behavior
- DLP enforcement gaps
- Optimize existing deployments for usability, performance, and policy clarity.
Technical Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview implementation.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 workloads:
- SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Teams
- Solid understanding of how Microsoft 365 Copilot works with:
- Graph permissions
- Content access and inheritance
- Sensitivity labels and DLP
- Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, and identity governance.
