Description
We are looking for an Azure Administrator to support and enhance a secure, stable cloud environment for a Financial Services organization in Middletown, Pennsylvania. This Long-term Contract position focuses on maintaining Azure infrastructure, identity services, networking, and recovery capabilities while promoting strong governance, performance, and cost efficiency. The role partners with technology and security teams to keep hybrid cloud operations reliable, resolve complex issues, and strengthen overall service resilience.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day administration of Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage services, subscriptions, and resource groups to ensure dependable platform operations.
Configure and maintain cloud networking components such as virtual networks, security controls, load balancing, routing, and connections between Azure and on-premises environments.
Support identity and access management through Microsoft Entra ID by managing user access, group structures, role assignments, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, and privileged access controls.
Enforce governance and security standards by applying policies, resource protections, tagging strategies, and access restrictions across the Azure estate.
Track system health, capacity, security notifications, and performance metrics, then respond to incidents and service interruptions in a timely manner.
Administer backup, restoration, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes, including regular testing to confirm recovery readiness.
Perform platform maintenance activities such as patching, configuration updates, vulnerability remediation, and ongoing support for Azure-based resources.
Automate recurring operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure administration tools, and runbooks, while also maintaining infrastructure through code-based deployment methods.
Investigate and resolve advanced cloud, identity, connectivity, and performance issues, documenting findings, corrective actions, and operational procedures.
Review resource consumption and cloud spend to identify optimization opportunities, improve forecasting, and support cost control efforts.
Requirements
At least three years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure or a similar enterprise cloud platform.
Strong knowledge of Azure services related to compute, storage, networking, monitoring, backup, security, and resource administration.
Practical experience with Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, and privileged access management.
Proficiency in PowerShell, including the use of Azure administration modules or command-line tools for support and automation.
Experience supporting hybrid connectivity, network routing, VPN or related secure connections, and cloud network protection measures.
Solid understanding of cloud governance, vulnerability remediation, incident handling, disaster recovery planning, and cost management practices.
Effective analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to balance independent work and cross-functional collaboration.
Microsoft Azure certification and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Bicep or Azure Resource Manager templates are preferred.
