Job Description:

Title: Design Control Intern

Location: On-site - Mansfield, MA

Duration: June - August (Summer Internship)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)

Pay Rate: $14/hour

Position Overview

This Summer Internship provides hands-on experience supporting Engineering Design Control activities within a regulated manufacturing and R&D environment. Under the direction of an R&D Manager, the intern will primarily support legacy product design control documentation and change management activities for manufacturing-supported products, with potential exposure to new product development (NPD) projects.

The role emphasizes execution of Design History File (DHF) requirements, including creation, compilation, and maintenance of product development documentation. The intern will gain experience working with cross-functional and remote teams while learning how design control supports product quality, compliance, and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and organize technical documentation related to Engineering Design Control
  • Support execution and maintenance of Design History Files (DHF)
  • Contribute to the Change Management Process (CMP) for product updates and improvements
  • Assist with documentation for medical device design control activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, Marketing, Planning/Logistics, Packaging/Labeling, and external partners
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in all technical records
  • Participate in team meetings, reviews, and project updates
  • Ask questions, seek feedback, and actively learn engineering and regulatory processes

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program
  • Minimum of two years of college coursework completed
  • Preferred: Rising Senior graduating December 2026
  • Ability to work on-site in Mansfield, MA for the full internship duration
