The Enterprise Applications Architect is responsible for architecting and governing application carve-outs, clones, and separations in support of M&A transactions. This role blends hands-on technical depth with architectural leadership, vendor oversight, and execution rigor to deliver Day-1 readiness and post-close stabilisation under aggressive timelines.
Core Responsibilities:
Application Architecture & M&A Delivery
• Lead application carve-out, cloning, and lift-and-shift strategies across complex application portfolios
• Define target-state application and data architectures aligned to deal timelines and TSA exit objectives
• Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, risk, cost, and future scalability
• Identify and remediate application, data, and integration dependencies impacted by separation
Integration & Data Architecture
• Design and govern interfaces, middleware, APIs, and batch integrations
• Define data separation, migration, and reconciliation approaches
• Ensure architectural consistency across environments (prod / non-prod)
Program & Vendor Leadership:
• Provide architectural oversight to system integrators and software vendors
• Review and approve solution designs, migration approaches, and cutover plans
• Proactively identify and mitigate execution and cutover risks
• Advise program leadership on technical trade-offs and sequencing decisions
Cross-Functional Execution
• Partner with infrastructure, cloud, security, IAM, and network teams
• Translate business separation requirements into actionable technical designs
• Support end-to-end testing strategy, test case development, and validation
• Lead cutover, go-live, and hypercare planning
Required Experience & Skills:
• 5+ years of enterprise application architecture and delivery experience
• Hands-on experience with COTS application deployment, cloning, and integration
• Deep expertise in application separation, cloning, and lift-and-shift migrations
• Strong understanding of enterprise data and integration architectures
• Experience managing multi-vendor delivery models
• Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, high-pressure M&A environments
• Strong executive and business-facing communication skills
Preferred Experience:
• Direct experience with M&A carve-outs, divestitures, or acquisitions
• Cloud and hybrid architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Exposure to Day-1 readiness, TSA management, and post-close stabilization
