Job Details

The Director of Operations will oversee all operational aspects of the New Construction division, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This leader will mentor operational teams, drive financial performance, and maintain strong relationships with clients, healthcare systems, design teams, and trade partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for all new construction operations throughout the Houston market.
  • Oversee multiple healthcare projects ranging from mid-size renovations to large ground-up facilities.
  • Lead and mentor Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership.
  • Drive project profitability, scheduling, staffing, and operational performance.
  • Partner with preconstruction and business development teams during pursuit and planning efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and key healthcare clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and company standards.
  • Develop operational processes that improve efficiency and project execution.
  • Participate in executive planning, forecasting, and organizational growth initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience within commercial mechanical construction.
  • Proven experience overseeing large-scale new construction projects.
  • Strong healthcare construction experience is required.
  • Background managing multiple project teams simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L oversight.
  • Experience developing and mentoring high-performing operations teams.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Stable work history with progressive leadership responsibilities.

Preferred Experience:
  • Mechanical contractor background specializing in HVAC, piping, plumbing, or design-build construction.
  • Experience with projects for hospitals, medical campuses, healthcare systems, or large institutional facilities.
  • Familiarity with Lean construction principles and operational process improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
