Full Stack Engineer to join a Risk-focused product team responsible for building and modernizing applications that support critical business functions across a large financial organization. This role is heavily
back-end focused (approximately 80%), with some front-end development using Angular.
The ideal candidate is a strong Java engineer with solid database experience, cloud exposure, and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical partners to deliver and modernize applications.
The role emphasizes backend development with Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, and AWS, with some Angular on the frontend. You will contribute to architecture, mentor team members, and build reliable services on cloud-native platforms. Your work will help the organization manage critical risk workflows and data.

Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and enhance back-end services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain front-end components using Angular (lighter emphasis than back end)
- Develop and optimize Oracle database objects, including SQL and PL/SQL
- Work with cloud-based infrastructure, primarily within AWS environments
- Contribute to application modernization initiatives for business-critical risk platforms
- Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow established CI/CD practices
- Communicate clearly and effectively in design discussions, code reviews, and team forums
Experience Requirements: Technical - Java, Kafka, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS
- Data analysis and data modeling
- CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, UDeploy, Swagger, and Datadog
- Development experience in UNIX and Windows environments
- Financial services domain exposure, particularly risk-related platforms
Experience Requirements - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven experience designing and delivering distributed, scalable applications
- Prior experience mentoring or providing technical guidance within a scrum team is a plus
- Strong hands-on experience with Java
- Working knowledge of Angular
- Solid experience with Oracle databases (SQL and PL/SQL)
- Exposure to AWS (cloud-native or cloud-hosted applications)
Soft Skills - Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to collaborate effectively within Agile scrum teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
