About the Role
At ITG, the Project Manager has two sets of responsibilities. You'll own delivery of client technology projects from start to finish, and you'll be the ongoing relationship lead for your assigned clients. You'll work closely with our technical teams and Team leads to plan and execute work. You'll run regular check-ins with clients to understand their needs, resolve issues, and identify new projects that move their business forward.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Manage IT projects end to end: scoping, planning, kickoff, execution, and closeout. Typical projects include infrastructure upgrades, cloud and Microsoft 365 migrations, network deployments, security implementations, and new client onboarding.
- Build project plans, timelines, and resource schedules in partnership with POD leads and engineers.
- Maintain accurate project status, tasks, and time.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and scope changes early, and manage change requests with clients.
- Track project budgets and hours against estimates, and flag overruns proactively.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors, carriers, and client-side IT contacts as needed.
- Run internal project meetings and hold teams accountable to deliverables and deadlines.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of clients.
- Hold regular client check-in calls and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
- Conduct needs assessments to understand client goals, pain points, and upcoming technology needs.
- Own resolution of client concerns and escalations, working with POD leads to get issues fixed and communicating clearly until they are closed.
- Identify and pitch new projects and service improvements, partnering with business development on proposals and statements of work.
- Keep client records, contacts, and relationship notes current in HubSpot, and keep documentation current in IT Glue.
Process Improvement
- Help refine ITG's project management methodology, templates, and client communication standards.
- Contribute to client onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Share lessons learned from completed projects to improve future delivery.
Requirements
- 3 5 years of IT project management experience; experience at an MSP or IT services firm strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Solid technical grounding in networking, Microsoft 365, Azure or cloud infrastructure, endpoint management, and security fundamentals, enough to speak credibly with engineers and translate technical detail for clients.
- A proven track record of delivering multiple concurrent projects on time and within scope.
- Client-facing experience managing relationships with business stakeholders and executives.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to lead meetings, handle difficult conversations, and present to clients.
- Comfort identifying and pitching new work to existing clients.
- Ability to work onsite at our Financial District office, with occasional client site visits.
Nice to Have
- PMP, CAPM, or ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
- Experience with ConnectWise Manage/PSA, HubSpot, and IT Glue.
- Exposure to compliance-driven environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, cyber insurance requirements).
- Experience supervising or mentoring a coordinator or junior staff member.
Growth Path
Strong performers can progress to Senior Project Manager, taking on larger client portfolios, complex multi-phase projects, and a bigger role in shaping ITG's PMO.
