Summary

GIS Governance Coordinator

LOCAL to the Richmond/Mechanicsville area.

GIS Governance Coordinator

Work schedule is ONSITE in Mechanicsville, VA 23116
Interview is ONSITE/IN-PERSON
Length of contract is 12 months with potential extensions
I can submit 2 candidates for the role

General Responsibilities:

Maintain documentation related to GIS governance.
Facilitate cross?department coordination to ensure consistent adoption of governance practices.
Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for leadership and governance committees.
Support enterprise GIS strategic planning and continuous improvement activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of GIS principles, data management, and enterprise GIS environments.
Understanding of data governance concepts including stewardship, lifecycle management, metadata, and data quality.
Ability to manage complex projects, engage stakeholders, and coordinate cross functional teams.
Skills in research, analytical thinking, workflow documentation, and process design.
Strong communication abilities, including writing governance documents and presenting technical findings to nontechnical audiences.
Experience with GIS technologies such as Esri tools, enterprise geodatabases, and spatial data services.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with geospatial governance or enterprise data governance programs.
Familiarity with transportation data domains.

Experience developing skill frameworks or role competency models for technical disciplines
