Omni Fort Lauderdale HotelThe Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
JOB PURPOSE: To ensure that all work requests pertaining to kitchens, function rooms,
food outlets and public areas are maintained with a reasonable amount of repair.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment.
- Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment in the building including guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms and parking garage.
- Monitoring and operation of BMS (Building Management System).
- Work on other equipment as needed.
- Maintain correct stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and filers and communicate when replenishment is needed.
- Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
- Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
- Must be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures
- Keep all work areas clean.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
- Ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
- Performs other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EPA universal licenses are required.
- Previous HVAC maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
- Experience in reading and interpreting schematics.
- Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel and ability to learn other related engineering programs. Must be organized and mechanically inclined with strong desire to learn building mechanics.
- Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests.
- Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
- Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions.
- May be asked to be part of "ride-out" crew during severe weather events.
- Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
- Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
- Requires repetitive motion, including the use of handheld and powered tools.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
- Hardware and tools, ladder, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine and push to talk radio
