Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage and optimize our databases across test, development, and production environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle databases, performance tuning, automation, and database migrations, with a focus on ensuring data integrity, recovery, and availability.

Core Responsibilities
  • Design, create, and maintain databases for test, development, and production environments.
  • Analyze, test, and implement physical database designs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain documentation of database environments, patches, and configurations.
  • Ensure data recovery, integrity, and space requirements are met through policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Audit current environments, perform capacity planning, and recommend best practices for future database environments.
  • Conduct performance assessment and tuning for Oracle database systems.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, technical managers, developers, and architects on database-related technical issues.
  • Migrate data and/or databases between different database platforms.
  • Execute database changes during after-hours maintenance windows.
  • Identify and implement automation and/or self-service opportunities to improve database processes.
  • Participate in bi-weekly on-call rotation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience managing Oracle databases (8+ acceptable for strong candidates).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Scripting experience in Shell or PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of database backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Excellent collaboration and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Familiarity with source control and GitLab.
