Our client seeks a Director of Cloud Infrastructure and Engineering to lead a globally distributed team that designs, develops, and deploys cloud infrastructure and automation. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, performance management, and governance of cloud platforms. You will drive multi-cloud strategy with emphasis on AWS, define automation platforms and deployment patterns, promote best practices, and ensure sustainable, reliable, resilient, and cost-optimized infrastructure at scale.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Salary: $200,000 - $190,000/ yr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Lead architecture, development, and governance of evolving cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure sustainability, reliability, resilience, scalability, and cost optimization.
  • Define and maintain automation platforms, patterns, and Infrastructure as Code for large-scale deployments.
  • Oversee integration of SaaS and vendor solutions in cross-cloud environments with IAM and security best practices.
  • Own execution of complex initiatives from conception to completion and troubleshoot critical incidents.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies.
  • Align work with Global Technology strategy and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Represent the cloud community in internal and cross-organizational forums.
  • Build organizational influence, mentor and coach team members, and manage recruitment and performance.
  • Contribute to cloud architecture and governance processes and provide expert guidance on cloud direction.

Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years in technical leadership with experience managing geographically distributed teams.
  • Expertise in integrating infrastructure components across on-premises and cloud service providers.
  • Current hands-on experience with cloud security, reliability, and integration best practices in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Fluency with IaC technologies including Terraform and CloudFormation; experience with Ansible, Python, Java, or Groovy is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience managing cloud infrastructures on AWS and Azure with exposure to Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience building automated configuration and CI/CD for high-availability, resilient systems at scale.
  • Knowledge of modern monitoring and alerting solutions spanning on-premises and cloud.
  • Ability to assess and apply industry trends and technologies appropriately.
  • Understanding of modern developer requirements and operational considerations such as supportability and maintenance.
  • Preferred: Cloud certifications and prior asset management experience.
