Summary

AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) is IS&T's engine for AI-powered innovation. The team brings together data, application development, and machine learning - including generative AI - along with data services and customer success functions, to help IS&T build solutions more efficiently and streamline the adoption and embedding of generative AI across Apple.

As a Sr Engineering Manager on the Applied Machine Learning team, you will lead a team software engineers building tools and platform at scale that powers Apple's enterprise GenAI efforts. You'll be responsible for the technical execution and delivery of GenAI platform with distributed compute, storage, ingestion and inference. You'll be working with the team of software engineers and machine learning engineers to build RAG and Agentic platform components. If you have a deep understanding for distributed systems, generative AI, strong engineering background and leadership experience, then this role may be a great one for you! In this role you will lead and mentor forward-thinking engineers and will own related activities and interactions with teams across Apple. You will work cross-functionally with key internal partners, researchers, product teams, and platform engineers for roadmap development and delivery of our products.

10+ years of experience working on distributed system\n6+ years of experience in management or leadership role\nDeep understanding of GenAI fundamentals\nDeep understanding of Java, C, C++ or similar programming language\nDeep understanding of distributed system like flink, spark, NoSql etc.\nBachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Track record of leading teams and delivering complex AI projects from conception to production\nStrong communication skills\nUnderstanding of LLM inference and deployment\nUnderstanding of RAG and Agentic systems\nPast experience leading a scalable platform team
