Description
We are looking for an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for our IT services during a transitional period. This contract position offers an opportunity to drive digital transformation, enhance cybersecurity measures, and align technology initiatives with the institution's academic and administrative goals. The role is based in Pittsford, New York, and requires close collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to deliver effective and forward-thinking IT solutions.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that supports the institution's academic, research, and administrative objectives.
Oversee the implementation of cybersecurity frameworks to protect sensitive institutional data and mitigate risks.
Lead the evaluation of current IT capabilities and identify opportunities for long-term improvements.
Manage the operational continuity of IT services, ensuring minimal disruption during the transitional period.
Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to align technology solutions with institutional priorities.
Provide leadership in advancing digital transformation initiatives to modernize systems and processes.
Supervise the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and attention to detail.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for IT operations and security.
Utilize Agile Scrum methodologies to enhance project management and delivery outcomes.
Monitor and manage IT budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Requirements
A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT leadership roles, preferably within higher education or similar environments.
Proven expertise in developing and executing IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with Cisco ASA Firewall.
Demonstrated ability to lead digital transformation initiatives effectively.
Proficiency in Agile Scrum methodologies for project management.
Excellent executive leadership skills, including communication, collaboration, and decision-making.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, students, and external partners.
Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements for IT operations.
