Software Engineer Senior Lead Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A client with Kforce is seeking a Software Engineer Senior Lead to join their team. This is a remote opportunity.

Summary:
This position will be a part of a team that will be leveraging an environment supporting multiple clients. We are looking for a senior resource, not entry level. This is a mainframe systematics position. This is more of a support role but could be some development work required - they do support but also have little projects that development would be needed. They will be triaging, analyzing existing code or developing new code.

Duties Include:
* Instructs the design and development of IT applications and software programs, ensuring they meet internal quality and reliability standards
* Achieves project milestones by effectively planning, coordinating, and executing complex software development initiatives with a high level of precision and efficiency.
* Collaborates with stakeholders to investigate, understand, and address user needs and requirements, gaining a deep understanding of their specific business objectives
* Conducts advanced debugging, utilizing sophisticated techniques and tools to identify and resolve complex software issues, enhancing overall system stability
* Provide advanced production support for primarily IM, ST, and additional Deposits applications
* Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production incidents and processing issues
* Support batch processing, online systems, file transmissions, and application recovery procedures
* Partner with clients, project teams, developers, and operations teams on implementations, enhancements, and issue resolution
* Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for recurring issues
* Develop and maintain support, recovery, and operational documentation
* Participate in on-call support and major incident response activities
* Mentor team members and serve as a subject matter expert for assigned applications

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of experience supporting banking or financial applications in a mainframe environment
* Strong knowledge of z/OS, JCL, CICS, TSO/ISPF, batch processing, and job scheduling
* Experience with production support, incident management, and application recovery
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teams
* Banking experience (deposits related) someone who's worked on a core application that's supported by checking accounts or savings accounts would work on this and what they're looking for

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
