Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a motivated Junior Data Engineer to join its Engineering Innovation Center (EIC). This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals looking to build their technical skills while working at a Fortune 5 organization. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, adaptable, and passionate about solving data engineering challenges.

The role involves supporting both legacy data systems and a modern UI-based data platform. Candidates will spend a significant portion of their time writing SQL, developing Python-based solutions, troubleshooting data issues, and contributing to the automation and optimization of marketing data workflows.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for data processing and UI platform development.
  • Support and maintain legacy data engineering applications using Python.
  • Troubleshoot production and data pipeline issues.
  • Assist in building, improving, and automating data workflows.
  • Work with both code-based and UI-driven ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business teams to deliver reliable data solutions.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong SQL skills (joins, CTEs, window functions, JSON parsing, query optimization).
  • Proficiency in Python with clean, modular coding practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving environments.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Databricks and PySpark.
  • Kafka and event-driven architecture.
  • Cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Snowflake.
  • Data warehousing concepts, ETL pipelines, and Git.
  • CI/CD practices, APIs, microservices, and data quality monitoring.
