Position Title: Sr. Oracle DBA

Position Description:
Join a prestigious federal agency as a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) in Richmond, VA. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to work on critical financial systems within the nation's central bank. You will collaborate with top-tier technology professionals to ensure the security, performance, and reliability of key databases. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, upgrading, monitoring, and maintaining Oracle databases, along with designing and tuning database systems. Your expertise will support strategic initiatives and help safeguard economic and financial operations. This role requires a seasoned professional capable of managing complex database environments and implementing best practices for performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced technical support and resolve complex database issues.
- Perform database installation, configuration, tuning, and upgrades.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery using RMAN.
- Ensure database security and compliance standards are met.
- Design and optimize database structures and schemas.
- Monitor and tune database performance for optimal efficiency.
- Support Oracle Clusterware (CRS), Data Guard configurations, and OEM administration.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting tools like Ansible.
- Collaborate on project activities, provide technical guidance, and assist in strategic planning of database architecture.
- Support Unix/Linux, Windows environments, and storage/network configurations as needed.
Top Requirements:
- Extensive experience with Oracle RDBMS, including installation, configuration, and tuning.
- Expertise in database upgrade, patch management, and security protocols.
- Strong knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard, Clusterware, and OEM.
- Proficiency with scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Ansible).
- Working knowledge of AIX/Linux, UNIX, Windows OS, and storage solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA certifications) preferred.
